The writing and publishing process begins with an idea of interest to you and of potential interest to your audience. The idea should be in an area where you have some expertise. However, expertise can be greatly enhanced by comprehensive research. Writing from your experiences will permit you to speak authoritatively from an expanding knowledge base.
If you need ideas for writing, ask yourself the following questions:
1. Have you ever wondered why no one has written an article or book on a
certain
topic?
2. Have you ever looked for information on a certain problem and been surprised
that
so little is available?
3. What particular challenges are you facing at work or at home?
4. Is there a new procedure or technique that needs to be described in a more
thorough
manner?
5. Can you add a new slant to a familiar topic?
